Dr Stanley Yip, CEO of G1X/NanRise, was invited to speak on carbon credit development and asset management at the EcoPark Biochar Centre in Hong Kong. The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government had awarded the contract to set up and operate the Pilot Biochar Production Plant in the EcoPark to the Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited in December 2021. The project is now in full operation and aims to become the pioneer facilities in the region converting local woody waste into biochar. The Biochar production process is a globally recognized carbon removal process.

As part of the NUS-ISS 2024 Learning Festival on 30 August 2024, Dr. Stanley Yip, CEO of NanRise Pte Ltd (Singapore) and G1x Limited (Hong Kong) is invited to engage in dynamic discussions with industry leaders on how Data Science and AI are driving sustainability goals. The International Biodiversity Forum and Symposium on Urban Resilience and Climate Adaptation were held at 8-9 November 2023, in Kunming, Yunnan. At the seminar, the first batch of selected cities under the United Nations “Action Plan for Creating Resilient Cities 2030” (MCR 2030) were officially released to the public. Dr. Stanley Yip, CEO of G1X/NanRise, was invited by the organizers to give a keynote speech at the conference titled “Climate Resilience and Urban Development Risk Assessment.” Dr. Yip introduced G1X and NanRise’s recent research and project experience in climate risk assessment and reported on the development of a climate risk assessment data analytics tool that has recently been test bedded in pilot projects in Chinese cities.

The Global Construction Sustainability Forum and Exhibition 2023 (GCSFE 2023) was organized by the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council from 19 to 22 November 2023 in Hong Kong SAR. It served as an international event with a view to bringing the agenda of sustainable construction to a heightened level to drive significant impact on the sustainable development of the industry, leading to the contribution to carbon neutrality of the city, the nation, and the world. Dr Stanley Yip, CEO of NanRise/G1X was invited to present a keynote talk on the Voluntary Carbon Market in Asia and the Implications for the Construction Industry on 21 November 2023. Dr Yip analyzed the challenges and the opportunities for the construction industry, as well as the need for active participation by the industry in the VCM to move towards the net zero goal.
