Project HeatSense : Hong Kong’s first AI driven university campus wide weather data backbone, heat stress alert and response management system.

We have been selected by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology HKUST Smart and Sustainable City Living Lab Programme to design, develop and deploy an AI driven heat stress weather alert and response action management system in the campus of the HKUST.

The project was initiated by our team in Hong Kong based on our ongoing research and development effort on innovative AI technology solutions for climate change. The project HeatSense includes the setting up of a data backbone of sensors across the HKUST campus collecting real time weather data. The data pipeline will be translated into an extreme weather alert warning system targeting different users and communities in the campus. The alert will also trigger off risk mitigation and preventive actions.

As we always believe: "climate risk is unavoidable, but unmanaged risk is not".
